Flush-stration… Tank Flushing Does Not Solve The Underlying Trihalomethane Problem

Tank flushing continues to be a common practice across the United States to achieve trihalomethane (THM) compliance.  We wrote a little bit about it in our blog back in December 2016.  Not only is flushing wasting water resources and money, it doesn’t remove any THM from useable water.  It only masks the larger problem.

If a tank has THMs now, the tank will have THMs in the future.  Flushing doesn’t stop that.  Since constant flushing isn’t an everyday reasonable solution, there is a very real risk of high THM water being passed on down the line and into the tap.  Only day-in day-out in-tank or in-line treatment can consistently remove trihalomethanes from your water.  And of the treatment options available, spray aeration is by far the most effective solution for active removal of THMs from your water.

GridBee® THM Removal Systems are the #1 proven and trusted industry leader with a 100% success rate.  100% Success.  If you haven’t done so already, check out the above Video White Board “What Is a GridBee® Trihalomethane Removal System” for a quick and easy overview how we can help you defeat THMs in your municipal drinking water storage tanks, in your distribution lines, and at your water treatment plant.

THM Removal is VOC Removal Too!

Spray aeration treatment is very effective at THM removal and it can also be a very useful treatment tool for other types of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as well.  If you need VOC removal for PCE (tetrachloroethylene), TCE (trichloroethylene), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), or some other VOC,  a GridBee® Spray Aeration System may be just what you need.  A field test unit is available to determine the expected removal rate for your specific VOC.  Contact us for details!
