GridBees Avoid Flushing Revenue Losses

Utilities are doing what they can to be more proactive about maintaining a sound water system.  Our customers have found when using the GridBee® THM Removal Systems (for trihalomethane compliance) and/or GridBee® GS Potable Tank Mixers (for complete tank mixing), they can reduce or eliminate the use of flush valves that send perfectly good water (and revenue!) down the drain.  Read more on our blog article: Tank Mixing & Spray Aeration Helps Stop "Flushing For DBP / THM Compliance"

Port Orange Reclaimed Water Reservoir Outfall Project

Protecting The Environment Through Water Reclamation

The City of Port Orange is leading the way in reclaim water reservoir treatment & storage.  See their press release and mini-documentary below.  Medora Corporation is very proud to have our SolarBee® Reservoir Mixing & Circulation Equipment as part of this very important 160 acre reclaim water project!

PORT ORANGE, FL – The City of Port Orange produced a documentary that highlights the completion of its Reclaimed Water Reservoir Outfall and Filtration project. The documentary showcases an innovative project that not only creates greater capacity to store reclaimed water for future use, but also provides several environmental benefits.

Located on the City’s property off Tomoka Farms Road, the reservoir, consisting of 175 acres, was developed to provide seasonal storage for peak reclaimed water demands and, restrict discharge of effluent into the Halifax River. The lakes also enhance recharge to the Floridian aquifer and wetlands in the City’s wellfield.

Through the use of stunning aerial drone photography and interviews, the documentary educates viewers on the project’s stormwater harvesting abilities, creation of wildlife habitat, and alternative water supply benefits. In addition, the presentation discusses the project’s best management practices that allow the City to reuse water a second time to irrigate lawns and landscapes, and thus reduce the need to draw additional water from the Floridian aquifer.
