"About a year ago SolarBee installed 6 solar-powered inductors for our thermally stratified shallow lake. Last winter we were experiencing significant algae problems and thermal inversions, indicative of Southern Alberta in general, coupled with the release of iron and manganese by sediment which precipitated again upon oxidation with chlorine (used for disinfection), essentially turning our production water brown. Since we were using the water as source-water for the beef-packing plant, potentially neurotoxic algae in the water was not acceptable. After installing the 6 Solar Bees we saw a drop from 10,000-40,000 cells/milliliter to ~100 cells/milliliter within 1 week! Within 2 weeks our cyanobacteria counts were below detection limits. Simply amazing."
